Description
Nestled amidst the rolling emerald hills of the Darjeeling Pulbazar subdivision in West Bengal, India, the Liza Hill Tea Garden village rests at an altitude of 2,500 to 4,800 feet above sea level. Just 16.2 kilometers from the sub-district headquarters of Darjeeling, this quaint and storied garden forms a prized segment of the renowned Risheehat Tea Estate, celebrated worldwide for its exceptional organic Darjeeling teas.
This particular batch of premium First Flush Darjeeling tea from the 2025 harvest is a rare treasure, hand-plucked from the highest elevation young AV2 clonal tea bushes flourishing in the revered B.S. Barie section of Liza Hill. Known for producing some of the finest clonal Darjeeling teas in the world, this garden’s legacy is upheld by the skilled hands of seasoned tea pluckers who select only the most tender and delicate leaves. The dry leaves are meticulously processed to reveal a radiant green hue, adorned with a profusion of silver tips — a hallmark of top-tier First Flush Darjeeling.
The dry leaves exude an enchanting bouquet of floral notes, distinctly reminiscent of fresh geranium, uplifted by subtle whispers of raw mango — a prelude to the vibrant experience that awaits.
Upon steeping for a precise five minutes, the liquor unfurls into a luminous golden-yellow cup, light-bodied yet remarkably smooth, with an exquisite floral elegance. A symphony of white lily and geranium blossoms across the palate, gradually giving way to a sweet, floral depth. Undertones of raw mango and fresh tropical fruit — evocative of sun-kissed muskmelon — thread through the cup, imparting a lively and refreshing vibrancy.
The finish is lively and refreshing, with subtle hints of spring sap gently lingering on the palate, leaving a clean and revitalizing aftertaste. A second steeping at five to six minutes reveals more distinct raw mango notes, making it an exceptional choice when served over ice for a truly elevated experience.
